Puerto Rico inaugurates 2,785 urban parks (...if you want to)

http://www.parkingday.org/

Puerto Rico is the third country with the mayor automobile rate per 1,ooo habitants. We must ask ourselves, what are the consequences of such a dramatic statistic?

Well, for one thing, more vehicles=more parkings and less space for other activities. The artistic collective, Rebar (http://www.rebargroup.org/), has come up with the idea to celebrate the public space and addressing public space issues, by turning meter parking spaces, into PARKS!!!.

In Puerto Rico, the company Urban Transit Solutions, have installed 2,785 meters distributed along 6 counties: Mayaguez, Aguas Buenas, Ponce, San Germán, Caguas and San Juan. Can you imagine what it would be to transform these spaces in actual parks, even if it is for two hours?

Show your commitment, and plan your space.

Apoya el movimiento Park (ing) Day, y planea tu espacio.
